If you follow me on twitter, @iam_spartacus, then you’ve probably seen me retweet a guy who calls himself @docfunk a lot. What you don’t know about @docfunk, until now, is that his real name is Sujoy and I’ve known him since Kindergarten. It was a real pleasure bringing him on my podcast this week. He’s actually responsible for the intro and interlude music you hear on this and any other podcast I produce. He’s also a huge sports fan, as you will find out. We did our best to keep inside and long-running jokes to a minimum in this one, hopefully you’ll have as much fun listening to this one as I did recording it. Enjoy. This weekend I completed my ride in the local Tour de Cure event. With cycling on the brain, I welcome Anthony DiPalma on my podcast to talk about, among other topics, living and cycling with Diabetes. Ever wonder what the difference was between a $3000 and $6000 bicycle was? You’ll find out here. Ever wonder what watermelon glucose tabs taste like? You’ll find out about that here too. Enjoy.

Last week, Diabetes Online Community pillar (or "base of the pyramid as he would call himself), Scott Johnson completed his Tour de Cure ride. This week I'm preparing for my own 20-mile ride. Naturally he was the perfect choice to be my guest on my podcast. We spend some time discussing his awesome accent, Northern Virginia's inability to handle snow and the growth of the Diabetes Online Community. There's also a lot of talk about a bus tour featuring everyone. Seriously, everyone gets a bus but you'll have to listen to this episode to get all of the details. Enjoy.

I welcome "The Handyguys" Brian and Paul on my podcast this week. While not carpenters or electricians or anything like that by trade, their years of experience have been the backbone of their website, podcast and growing fanbase. Brian and Paul spend an hour with me talking about various aspects of their podcast from the format to the few instances of "hate" or overly enthusiastic constructive criticism. They've also done lots of work rebuilding homes affected by Hurricane Katrina. Trust me, they have some very interesting stories to tell about that one.

With Memorial Day fresh in my mind, I reached out to another member of the Diabetes Online Community who also has a connection to our Armed Forces. It's like a two-fer, on one podcast. Cherise is well known throughout the online community for her engaging personality and I finally got the pleasure of having her on my podcast. On the diabetes front we talk about the adventures of pregnancy. On the military front, we talk about memorizing the military alphabet. On the life front, we discuss why you do not want to mess with Cherise's mom. That's a story you do not want to miss. Enjoy.
