Last week we talked about earthquakes, this week? Hurricanes. This week I'm joined by Martin Wood, Florida native, diabetes veteran, cycling enthusiast and all-around good guy. We talk about his experience with hurricanes, his love of life on two wheels and life as a child living with diabetes and how that shaped his interactions with the online community. There's also plenty of talk about Friends For Life and if you listen carefully, some inside tips for anyone interested in dog-sitting. Enjoy. Martin's fully formed sentences can be found at diabeticallyspeaking.com and his tweets can be found at @woodonwheels. Run Time - 57:15 Send your feedback to feedback@justtalkingpodcast.com.

On August 23, 2011 the entire East Coast experienced an earthquake today. Of slightly lesser importance but infinitely more enjoyment comes Episode 97 of Just Talking featuring Talking About Games community member and cohost of "That's Our Opinion" Eddie (or The Great One as he would like to be called). This podcast is filled with talk about gaming as a parent, parenting a young gamer, representing Jersey better than those crazy kids on MTV, life as a bouncer, the Dallas Cowboys and the previously mentioned podcasting sensation - That's Our Opinion. Lucky for you, you don't have to evacuate the area to listen to this one. Enjoy. Keep up with Eddie on Twitter at @tg1_eddie and follow his podcast @ThatsOurOpinion. For those of you keeping score at home, Episode 100 of my humble little podcast is just a few weeks away. Rather than continue the tradition of finding a new guest and introducing him or her to the wonderful world that is my listening audience I'm going to change things up a bit. The guest for Episode 100 will be... Me. Dayle has been kind enough to "host" Episode 100 and I will get to tell my tales of gaming, diabetes, podcasting and whatever else comes up. And to that "whatever else", I am putting this PSA out here to get some input from all of you. If you have any questions you would like answered or topics discussed from my point of view, here is your golden opportunity. If you have a question you want to ask or a topic you'd love my input or opinion on send them in to askchris@justtalkingpodcast.com and they will find their way into the podcast. As always, your contiued support of this adventure is most appreciated. Run Time - 2:59 |

Episode 96 is all about the letter T. My guest, Justin Keyes is a graduate from Tulane University. He's a big fan of Tennis (not only is he a fan, but he is also the coach of a high school tennis team). He teaches High School Chemistry as well as various Math courses. And finally he is a huge Television fan. As you have probably guessed, we spend the duration talking about the many aspects of teaching, why chemical engineering may not be all it's cracked up to be, what makes tennis a sport of great theater, and there's a lengthy discussion about the Philadelphia Eagles to round things out. Enjoy. You can follow Justin (and his many TV shows) on Twitter at @justinkeyes. Run Time - 1:16:13 Send your feedback to feedback@justtalkingpodcast.com. |

It is a well documented fact that my Mom raised me as a New York Knicks fan. Sure, the past few years haven't been the best, but I continue to remain faithful to the Knickerbockers. Sharing my love of basketball in Episode 95 is Jared Wade, founder of BothTeamsPlayedHard.net and eightpointsnineseconds.com. We spend the hour talking about the the Indiana Pacers, the differences between basketball journalists and bloggers, the perks of being an ESPN Affiliate and why the current lockout isn't the worst thing in the world depending on your perspective on the situation. Enjoy. You can follow Jared on Twitter at @Jared_Wade and keep up with his blogs at Both Teams Played Hard and Eight Points, Nine Seconds. What started as a Google+ notification evolved into a podcast appearance. Isn't social media great? Chris Campbell, Product Director for Patient Marketing at Animas Corporation is my guest this week. We spend some time talking about his work at Animas, the impact of the diabetes online community on his work and how social media plays a role in the ongoing dialog between Animas and its customers. It's always nice to know that corporations, big or small, are listening to what "we" have to say and it's clear Chris and his coworkers are paying attention. After the diabetes talk, we dig into a few Philadelphia-related topics: colleges, Eagles, Phillies and booing Santa. Believe me, this is a good one. Enjoy. You can follow Chris on Twitter at @cgc0211 and if you're interested in what Animas has to offer as far as insulin pumps are concerned, let me know.
