John Grisham? Stephen King? I skip right over amateur hour this week and welcome Elizabeth to my humble podcast. We spend some time getting into her writing process and what it feels like to get your first book published. She also celebrated her very first Mother's Day. Elizabeth was kind enough to break down the process leading up to the adoption of her daughter. There's also the matter of her blog, written word wouldn't do it justice so I let her explain the fun of her blog posts. She has quite the story to tell and it's certainly one worth hearing. If you listen carefully, someone else makes their podcasting debut. Enjoy.

As I slowly check off names on my wishlist of guests for Just Talking, this week I welcome Larry Asberry Jr. (@lasberry) for an hour of fun. We break down the origin of his alias, Bluemanrule, the importance of family and for the main course: what it takes to build a community. The whole community building thing is a topic I frequently visit because I think there can never be enough input on that topic. I hope you agree, and I hope you enjoy..

The notion that a bunch of strangers can rally behind a movement or person simply because they feel like it might be foreign to some people but not to members of the Diabetes Online Community. This week Karen, of MostlySelfTaughtKnitter.com and BitterSweet fame is my guest for an hour of banter about a range of topics. The elephant in the room this week within the Diabetes Online Community is Karen's creation: a week's worth of blog topics for anyone willing to participate, "Diabetes Blog Week". Support for her idea was immediate and overwhelming. I invited her on to talk about Diabetes Blog Week, knitting podcasts, how to properly pronounce "meme", and much more. Enjoy.

This week I'm joined by another member of the Diabetes Online Community, Chris Bishop (@BishopisI). Blog lurkers from last year might remember Chris' blog and its distinct presentation style. We spent a good portion of the podcast getting into the motivations and origins behind his creativity, specifically how his hobbies have evolved into a true passion. He has recently started a new blog, http://type1tidbits.com, that naturally focuses on his living with type 1 diabetes and is worth a few minutes of your time. For the pancreatically gifted, don't worry, there's much more to Chris than this disease and this episode is the perfect piece of evidence to support that. Enjoy.
